Beam Features
The 72-inch-wide RS62172 bulk storage rack beams are perfect for expanding your bulk storage rack section. Republic makes the heavy-duty beams of 14-gauge steel. Our unique “Z” beam design increases the strength and load capacity of the the steel beams while also resisting tipping and eliminating wasted space. The MIG welded beam clips give added strength. Each end of the bulk storage rack beam has three studs to engage the heavy-duty metal Rack Upright slots. Easily adjust the beams on 1-1/2-inch vertical centers. Since the beams install without tools it’s easy to adjust your level spacing when your storage needs change. A fold in lock tab easily engages with the post to prevent accidental displacement.
Each pair of 72-inch-wide heavy-duty beams can hold up to 1,900 lbs. We offer these steel beams with a durable powder coat finish available in Dove Gray. The powder coat paint finish will help protect your bulk rack shelving from everyday use. Each package contains two beams.
Support and Decking Options
Republic recommends adding at least one front-to-back support to each pair of 72-inch-wide beams. These supports install easily onto the heavy-duty RS62172 bulk storage rack beams without tools. Adding these supports help minimize beam rotation when supporting heavy loads. This maintains both the rigidity and stability of your industrial rack shelving. These supports can also be used as supports to hold your own plywood decking.
Upgrade your new RS62172 bulk storage rack beams by adding decking. All of our decking options rest easily on the step of the beams. The 5/8-inch step of the beams also prevents the decking from sliding. Ribbed decking panels allow for space to grab packages easily while preventing pinched fingers. Our 5/8-inch thick particle board decking creates a smooth, uninterrupted surface while preventing loose items from falling through to the levels below. Add flat wire decking when more visibility is needed. Using wire decking also enhances fire safety by allowing more sprinkler access through the levels from top to bottom. Two front-to-back supports per level are recommended when using particle board or wire decking.
